A
fter two years of struggling with lockdown restrictions and rules, we
are starting to see encouraging signs. While not the same for all sectors in all regions of Asia Pacifi c, some courageous operators are taking the chance. In Melbourne and Sydney, there is a resurgence of trade shows and social gatherings such as 1,800 at The Longest Lunch. However, it’s not all roses for our colleagues in northern New South Wales and
rowth is an integral part of the consulting profession. As FCSI members, we
must always be striving to grow our skill so we can deliver the best service to our clients. After more than two years
I am excited that in-person educational events are now back. The fi rst FCSI The Americas Conference in four years in Montreal, Canada, is a great example. In April members were excited to learn and grow via amazing speakers
and dynamic breakout sessions. Professional growth is also a pillar of our organization as evident through the professional membership process (PMP) and the continuing professional growth (CPG) program. The PMP lets consultants
work towards the goal of becoming a Professional member by demonstrating industry experience and project management skills while moving through the
various levels of membership. The CPG program engages consultant members in lifelong learning and development through obtaining Continuing Educational Units to maintain their membership status. I would encourage all members of FCSI to take advantage of the educational and growth opportunities provided to us. his is my fi rst welcome letter to the FCSI family following FCSI Europe, Africa, Middle East (EAME)’s #TACT2022 Conference in Chantilly, France on 12-15 May 2022. TACT stands for Together, Action, Change, Transformation, which was the primary theme of the Conference. But, beyond that, ‘TACT’ will drive our actions within FCSI EAME for the coming years. It was my fi rst post-lockdown exhibition and it was a great experience. Many people met each other for the fi rst time in real life – and were very happy to talk in person. On my way home I was thinking if it is right to just do

what has been done over the last decades. Expectations have changed and there is a new generation of young people entering the industry who never had to follow these old traditions, such as attending equipment exhibitions. Those people were not really present in Hamburg. FCSI needs to help them to build their own traditions and rituals. This will help us to continue growing. It’s a big opportunity, and we will take it, together.
