NONA June is the first Belgian non-alcoholic spirit that challenges both your taste buds and your expectations. Charlotte, a young bio-engineer and the founder of NONA drinks, tried and tested many different formulas before perfecting the taste of NONA June. She teamed up with several high-class chefs in order to truly capture the five- star experience she was looking for in a drink. The pursuit of excellence in quality eventually paid off: NONA is now included in the menus of a number of world-class establishments, such as The Jane, a two-starred restaurant in Antwerp. Not only the background story – coming from a start-up business – but also the flavour is what makes this drink exceptional; the balance of fresh citrus flavours combined with a herbal touch results in an exquisite non-alcoholic alternative to the classic gin that we all know. But why name it NONA June? Because of the perfect harmony of distilled herbs and citrus flavours? Correct. NONA refers to the Latin word for ‘nine’ since it contains nine individually distilled botanicals in one drink. June refers to the juniper berry, which also happens to be the star ingredient of a classic gin.
