Combilift is dedicated to enabling companies to make their timber handling operations greener

Combilift has revolutionised the material- handling sector by offering tailored and space-efficient solutions for over 26 years. Since the first unit was built, the Irish- based manufacturer has exported more than 85,000 units to over 85 countries. In the industrial truck market, the Combi-CB70E has emerged as a significant development, debuting at Ligna 2023 and showcasing Combilift’s dedication to the timber industry. This multi-directional model, with a lifting capacity of 7t, stands out as the most compact counterbalance truck in its capacity category. Its small footprint and lateral movement enable effortless navigation through confined spaces and narrow aisles, making it ideal for transporting long and bulky loads of timber.

Designed with driver’s comfort in mind, it was awarded the coveted ‘Ergonomic Innovation of the Year’ at the recent UK Materials Handling Association Awards. Boasting a remarkably spacious cab featuring floor-to-ceiling panoramic glass, the Combi- CB70E ensures exceptional visibility and safety for operators. One of its standout features is the auto swivel seat, which automatically swivels 15° to the left or right, based on the travel direction, significantly

reducing driver strain, particularly during reverse manoeuvres. The CB70E features a gas strut suspension system commonly found in larger industrial machinery. This advanced suspension, along with large super-elastic tyres, ensures a smooth ride over rough or uneven terrain and during extended shifts. Additionally, it is equipped with award-winning independent traction, which eliminates the need for a differential lock on slippery surfaces and reduces long-load momentum twisting when travelling sideways, regardless of ground conditions.

Featuring the new Combi-Eco green colour, this model is fully electric and designed to make operations more environmentally friendly. Sustainability is a top priority for Combilift, and this electric model reflects that commitment.

Combilift has a strong focus on sustainability, not only by producing more electric equipment but also by maximising space utilisation. With the price of land getting more expensive by the minute, making the most of existing warehousing facilities is crucial and is also the most cost-effective solution when companies are considering expanding their business.

Combilift has the expertise to assist businesses in maximising the capacity, safety, and efficiency of their warehouse and storage facilities. “We have always seen Combilift as much more than a designer and manufacturer of forklifts and other handling solutions,” said Martin McVicar, CEO and co-founder. “Space is one of the most valuable assets our customers possess, and if our trucks can make it work better for them in terms of storage density then everyone benefits. “The ongoing demand for warehouse space, coupled with ever-rising business costs means that space optimisation is now more important than ever,” he continued. “Additional benefits, of course, also include avoiding the operational headache for management and the workforce of relocating to new premises, the lack of bureaucracy associated with new builds or extensions, and the expense of leasing extra offsite storage.” Combilift has a team of design engineers who can provide businesses with a free-of- charge warehouse design and layout service. This service demonstrates how warehouse space can be configured according to the capabilities of Combilift’s products, which in some cases can double available space. ■
