My New Orleans by Kim Dufrene

Te food is like heaven in a plate Don’t ya hesitate to get ya some noon or late Always a character on the street corner And a live music club, be it jazz or a rocker From the funky streets to the shiny lights Tat’s my New Orleans From the dancing dolls to the nature calls Tat’s my New Orleans You can get it all at the city on the river crescent And the beauty is so evanescent But in the shadows there is suffering and doom Te evil is there, and the demon does loom From the funky streets to the shiny lights Tat’s my New Orleans From the dancing dolls to the nature calls Tat’s my New Orleans Tem folks will give you all they shirts Along with the Gumbo on the gas range Tey will feed your soul in the city of ghosts Tey will surely make you strange From the funky streets to the shiny lights Tat’s my New Orleans From the dancing dolls to the nature calls Tat’s my New Orleans

Outside of My Window by Kim Dufrene

Te sky is the bluest gray outside of my window to the world Te clouds are fluffy lumps of white floating quickly by Te cool air is blowing through the trees like a torrent Te leaves on the treetops are dangerously dangling and descending Into the winds that bring the Autumn smells and spells Te bushes flow with a crispy gust of whirling dust Te dense thicket stands strong against the drafty waft of air Te blades of grass sway slowly when the gusts dip down in distaste Te coyote stands tall and unleashes his hungry wail into the dark sky Te brown rabbit freezes with fear when it hears the howl of the hounds Te timid mouse dashes away and hides in the dark hole of earthy dirt Te green grasshopper rests quiet and still deep in the blades of grass Te tiny army of ants continue down the path to their plan of attack Te black dirt lays in wait for the new seed to drop Which will begin the next season of life outside my window
