Teir daughter, Halle, started college this fall and their three sons, Jon, Ryder and Dillon, are starting 9th, 5th and 2nd grade. Tey’ve been in North Raleigh for 12 years and love it! JT is in- house counsel for a global nonprofit, and both he and Cathy are on the pastoral team of their church. Cathy homeschools their three wild boys.

2004 Sarah Hennessy-Hurtt thinks Dr. Waite would be proud. After twenty years, she has landed her first newspaper job. Sarah is very happy working for a family-owned group of papers and is glad to know a hyper- local paper is still relevant in 2020.

2005 Whitney Wurzel completed her first year as executive director of New Pioneers for a Sustainable Future, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing sustainability in rural Kentucky through education, demonstration and advocacy. A letter from Dr. Billy O. Wireman hangs in her office, encouraging her to act as a global citizen, live a noble life and engage in a productive career. She and Casey Hammett will celebrate their 10-year anniversary next spring, along with two-year-old daughter Susannah.
2006 Devin Baranowski has decided 2020 was not busy enough, so she is going back to school. She is pursuing her MBA at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, Tennessee, and she continues to volunteer for her local PBS station and as finance advisor for the local chapter of Alpha Delta Pi.
Amber Rigsby Freeman and her husband, David, welcomed their second son, Hudson Taylor Freeman, on December 19, 2019. Hudson is named after James Hudson Taylor, a British Christian missionary who lived in China. His older brother, Benton (3), is completely besotted with him. Te family resides in Atlanta.
Amanda Banks McGrath and Kyle McGrath ’07 are living the dream of balancing jobs, parenting and virtual schooling in this crazy time. Bennett is in third grade, and Chandler is in Pre-K. Tey are sending love to all of their equally exhausted classmates.
