1961 Adelaide Anderson Davis retired from Queens on June 30 after an impressive 37-year career. Adelaide began her time as a staff member in August of 1983 and has held many roles at the university, most recently as associate vice president of Alumni Relations & Planned Giving. Beloved by alumni, community members, faculty, staff and students, Adelaide enjoyed a surprise drive- by parade held in her honor.


1963 Harriette McMichael Majoros and husband, Bill, are thrilled that daughter, Rebecca Majoros-Gomez ’02, and husband, Chris, have moved from Orange, California, to their brand new house in Hickory Flat, Georgia, (outside Atlanta). Rebecca and Chris moved in May amid the pandemic so that Rebecca could start her new position with Lexmark in June. Harriette and Bill are still participating in their Corvette Club activities that are socially distanced. Rebecca and Harriette got to celebrate their birthdays together this year for the first time in many years.

1966 Judy Wood completed digital production of her book Lives of Texas Brick—And Teir Makers. She is selling it on her website, ruffbrickroad.com.

As a member of the board of directors of the San Francisco Press Club, Edrie Blackwelder and the board recognize excellence in journalism. She joins with press clubs across the nation to raise their voices in support for journalists and for the First Amendment right to a free press. She lives with her service samoyed, Lyublyu, and his pack in California.


Lois Huber Shipp very much enjoys living in a Presbyterian retirement community, where she participates in a Presbyterian women’s circle, exercises regularly and appreciates the care the administration takes in protecting


1968 Parker Norman Call was one of 14 classmates to enjoy a virtual “happy hour” last March. It was a delightful mini-reunion that they all agreed they’d like to do again. However, there was one sad note as the group learned of the death of a well-loved classmate, Ellen (“Tub”) McCullough Styles. Tey extend their deepest sympathy to her husband, Brooks, and to the rest of their family.


Jacquelyn Harmon Saylor, known as Jackie, has again been appointed to Te Carter Center’s Board of Councilors. Jackie has also been selected to the 2020 Georgia Super Lawyers list for Estate Planning & Probate. Jackie has been practicing law at home with her husband, Murray, since March, while maintaining their office in Midtown Atlanta. 1969 Te prestigious Steffen Tomas Museum in Buckhead, Georgia, called for all sculptors in the state of Georgia to submit sculptures in wood, metal and stone. Hundreds applied, and only 11 artists from the entire state were accepted. Carol Callaway Veliotis had two of her three submissions accepted. Due to COVID-19, the exhibit will be virtual and can be seen at steffenthomas.org.


1970 Now a retired R.N., Mary Beth Burry Donati has recently relocated from Mississippi to St. Petersburg, Florida, after the 2018 passing of her husband of 47 years, Victor C. Donati, Jr. She enjoys spending time with her three sons and their families, while awaiting the birth of her sixth grandchild in the spring. She is also looking forward to the highly anticipated Queens Class of 1970 Reunion!

Erwin Heeseman Williams has been reading, exercising and eating her way through the pandemic. She and her husband, Donnie, went on a Caribbean cruise in late January and got off the ship the week before bedlam hit the cruise lines. Tey feel pretty fortunate for that. Te two also feel fortunate that they both have been well thus far. Wishing good health to you all.


1971 Kathy Broadway McCollum and husband, Bill, are safely living at their Blowing Rock home, missing family and friends, but feeling very blessed. Tey are pleased to share that granddaughter Erin is thriving as a freshman at Wake Forest. Betty Pilcher Neal and Kathy are co-chairing the Class of 1971’s Golden Reunion for April
