Te class expresses sympathy to Betty Cobb Smith and Mary Cobb McSwain ’52 on the death of their brother, Hollis Frank Cobb, Jr., who passed away on April 16.

Te class expresses sympathy to Jane McLaurin Stanley on the death of her husband, William Stanley, who passed away on September 8.

Te class expresses sympathy to Olive Jane Ferguson Cornwell on the death of her brother- in-law, Dick Cornwell, who passed away on May 30.


1956 Lynne Barnes Foley lives in a CRC (a continuing living facility), and


it seems to be just about the safest and most protective environment during the COVID-19 season. She resides in an apartment on a lake, making sure to exercise daily and enjoying God’s overflowing joy.

Suzanne Davis Ross announces her great-granddaughter, Ellie Mae, was born to her namesake Haley Suzanne Ross of Smithfield, North Carolina, on May 9. Due to COVID-19 social distancing, she finally held her on August 19! Eight of her watercolorist friends continue to paint for two hours each Monday, six feet apart and masked, of course, at the Senior Center in Salem, Virginia. Her watercolor, Lady in the Blue Shawl, sold and benefits Huddle Up Moms, whose mission is to empower, educate and support mothers in Southwest Virginia by fueling meaningful connections within the community.


Te class expresses sympathy to Jane Davis Rourk on the death of her husband, Dr. Malcolm H. Rourk, Jr., who passed away on September 4.


On June 4, Sue Reid Terrell and husband, Bill, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Most of those years have been spent in


Charlotte, where they reared their three children—two of whom, along with their spouses and five children, live in Charlotte. In August, Sue and Bill marked their third year as residents of Sharon Towers, where there are a number of Covenant Presbyterian friends and where they have met many other lovely people. Sue is still singing in the Covenant Choir under the direction of Kenney Potter, son of classmate Betty Kenney Potter! She is also looking forward to 2021 when she can celebrate her 61st reunion with the Queens Class of 1960!


1961


After 25 years, Gail Carter Presson Nichols has moved from West Point, Virginia, to Sarasota, Florida, with her two yorkiepoos, Georgia and O’ Keefe, to be closer to her daughters.
