School Executive Leadership Academy
For more than a decade, the Belk Foundation has invested in the School Executive Leadership Academy (SELA) at Queens, designed to prepare educators to lead schools with vision, equity, and impact. “The support from the Belk Foundation allows us to provide a transformative experience for aspiring school leaders,” said Alison Hiltz, newly retired director of SELA. “Their investment not only sustains the program but helps shape the future of education in our state.”
Highly selective and rooted in real-world practice, SELA equips participants to return to their home communities with the tools, confidence, and expertise to lead schools and inspire meaningful change.

Charlotte Hornets
This summer, Queens proudly welcomed Charlote’s very own NBA team, the Hornets, to campus through a unique and collaborative partnership. While their facility undergoes renovation, this shared endeavor is expanding what’s possible for Curry Arena in the Levine Center for Wellness and Recreation, demonstrating the power of partnership in action.
