Greenspon Mental Health Support

Thanks to the Stan Greenspon Mental Health Programming Fund, Queens was able to expand its mental health and leadership programming tailored to student-athletes. These initiatives go well beyond NCAA requirements and demonstrate a commitment to the holistic success of our students. Programming this year included:

• Expert-led workshops to empower student-athletes in both their sport and beyond their identity as an athlete

• A visit from mental health advocate and author Haley Weaver, offering support and encouragement

• A “Fueling For Finals” event focused on mind, body, and spirit during a high-stress time of year

These experiences not only enhance performance but promote lifelong resilience, helping our Royals thrive in all aspects of life.

“The mental health resources and leadership training I received had a lasting impact on me as a student-athlete. They created a space where we could openly talk about pressures we face and learn strategies to manage stress, build

emotional strength, and prioritize well-being. It’s something I’ll carry with me long aſter college athletics.”

Charlote native Haley Weaver returned to Queens University to share excerpts from her illustrated memoir, “Give Me Space but Don’t Go Far.” The event, a collaborative effort between departments including Queens Athletics, Student Life, Psychology, and Political Science, drew a diverse crowd of students, faculty, and staff.
