Nursing Students Prepare for the Real World with Cutting-Edge VR Technology
A generous giſt from Christie Hunt ’05, MSN, RN, and her husband, Jon, is helping Queens level up its nursing program by introducing immersive virtual reality (VR) technology for students.
“Being one of the very few universities in North Carolina to provide this learning environment gives our graduates a distinct advantage in the competitive healthcare market and reinforces Queens University as a leader in nursing education,” said Jaye Weaver, Ph.D., dean of the Blair College of Health and the Presbyterian School of Nursing.
Through this cuting-edge tool, students gain hands-on experience in a wide range of clinical scenarios, from basic patient care to complex procedures.
“It creates an engaging and risk-free environment for skill development. The real-time feedback from instructors is invaluable for identifying areas where I can grow,” said Tina Wang ’26.
This investment in technology is preparing future nurses to be confident, competent, and compassionate professionals who are ready to lead in a dynamic healthcare landscape.
