Police officers saved the life of a Notting- ham taxi driver after he was found slum- ped over the steer- ing wheel of his cab after it crashed near the Forest Recre- ation Ground. Neighbourhood Ins- pector Riz Khan has praised the quick thinking actions of his officers who found the hackney driver unconscious after a suspected heart attack. According to the Nottingham Post, the driver has not been identified, but the taxi community said he was now in “a stable condition” thanks to the offi- cers’ intervention. Lee is very good like that and is generous with his time.” Mr Bannister said: “Max was a bit shy and overwhelmed at first but he seemed very pleased to see the coach of Hull FC
as he is very keen on sport. “He started showing us his exercises and did the splits. He has become a local hero.” Mr Bannister hopes the auction will raise a lot of money for Max and his family. He said: “We’ve had quite a few dona- tions and I think we should raise around £3,000. “I have children myself and this is heartbreaking but Max is so very brave.”
