point of sale ..... point of sale .. £1000 TIP IS THE CATCH OF THE DAY FOR HULL CABBIE!
Things have definitely been heating up. And I don’t just mean the weather. After dishing out £4,000 in tips to cabbies at the Taxi & Private Hire Exhibition in Coventry, my mys- tery mission took me north to Bradford. It was there that I made Azhar Iqbal a very happy man indeed by giving him his £1000 tip.
Impressed with north- ern hospitality, I decided to stay in Yorkshire. Something told me to head east for those Mystery Tip- per stickers, so I made my way to Hull.
It was a bright and blustery summer’s morning on Humber- side. I started my search for cabbies at
the delightful marina, but I couldn’t see any stickers. Suddenly, a big gust of wind blew my trilby clean off! As I chased it up the road, my eye caught a flash of orange and blue in the rear window of a passing private hire cab. A Mystery Tipper Sticker! Drat, I’d missed the number. Encouraged, I headed towards the city cen- tre. My luck was in! Another private hire taxi with a Mystery Tip- per sticker. This time I got the number, Hull Cars. So I made a call and waited for my car to arrive, hoping that I’d be picked up by one bearing a sticker. I wasn’t disappointed. Eddie Walker, a self- employed taxi driver,

picked me up from Beverley Road and as soon as I saw the sticker, I knew it was his lucky day. Eddie was over the moon, “I was 65 a week ago so
