THE ASCOTT LIMITED has completed renovation of its 362-unit Ascott Makati residence in Manila, offering expansive living and dining spaces across studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. HYATT HOTELS CORPORATION will launch its first Hyatt Place property in Malaysia, the Hyatt Place Melaka Gateway, in late 2019 as part of the new Melaka Gateway mixed-use project. HYATT REGENCY will launch its first property in Cambodia in 2020, the 250-room Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh. MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL and STARWOOD HOTELS AND RESORTS have officially completed their merger, becoming the largest hotel company in the world with 30 hotel brands. The group will now operate or franchise more than 5,700 properties and 1.1 million rooms worldwide. MIRA HOTEL COLLECTION has joined the Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) programme. Guests at The Mira Hong Kong and Mira Moon Hotel can now enjoy SPG benefits such as complimentary upgrade.
NOVOTEL SUITES has opened its first Asia-Pacific property in in Vietnam. The Novotel Suites Hanoi includes a selection of 87 studios and 64 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. OAKWOOD ASIA PACIFIC has signed a management agreement with developer OUE Limited to manage the new Oakwood Premier OUE Singapore serviced residences in the new OUE Downtown mixed-use development, set to open mid-2017. RITZ-CARLTON has announced it will manage its first property in northwestern China, The Ritz-Carlton Xian, which is expected to open in 2018. SIX SENSES will open its debut North American property in New York in 2019. Six Senses New York will also be the Thai hotel group’s first urban hotel globally.
THE LO & BEHOLD GROUP will be opening its first ever hotel in Singapore this December. The hospitality company has gained a name for itself through its F&B offerings in the city-state, which include all-American diner OverEasy and local Singaporean bar Loof. YTL HOTELS has acquired three boutique hotels in the UK, bringing the Malaysian group’s portfolio to 29 properties.
