SRI LANKA SHOCK SOUTH AFRICA
Sri Lanka became the first side from Asia to win a Test series against South Africa in South Africa.
India suffered their first defeat in a bilateral T20 series of three matches or more when hosts New Zealand beat them 2-1, ending India’s run of 10 consecutive T20 series without defeat.
Australia defeated Sri Lanka by 366 runs in Canberra, the largest winning margin in runs in Test matches between the countries.
Kane Williamson passed 6,000 Test runs for New Zealand.
England slipped to fifth in the MRF Tyres ICC Test team rankings after their 2-1 series defeat in the Caribbean, the first time they had lost a series to the West Indies since 2009.
In an ODI series drawn 2-2, captain Eoin Morgan became the first England batsman to reach 6,000 runs in ODIs. Chris Gayle became the second batsman for the West Indies – after Brian Lara – to score 10,000.
New Zealand won their home Test series against Bangladesh 2-0, their fifth series success in a row. Their first-innings total of 715 for six declared in the first match was the highest in the country’s Test history.
