Mehidy Hasan takes 12 for 117, the best match figures by a Bangladesh bowler in Tests, as they won their home series against the West Indies 2-0.


In the MRF Tyres ICC Rankings at the end of 2018, India were the No.1 men’s Test team, England the top men’s ODI team and Pakistan the leading men’s T20I team. Australia were the leading women’s team in both Women’s T20Is and ODIs.


India captain Virat Kohli and South Africa fast bowler Kagiso Rabada maintained their top positions in the MRF Tyres ICC Test Player Rankings at the year-end. Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan finished the year as leading all-rounder.


India’s Smriti Mandhana won the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Award as the ICC Women’s Player of the Year.

A draw in the final Test in Sydney gave India a 2-1 series victory over Australia, their first on Australian soil. Cheteshwar Pujara made 193, his third century in the four-match series.


The ICC welcomed back the United States of America as its 105th member country.

South Africa completed a 3-0 Test series victory at home to Pakistan.


Following his maiden double hundred against England in Barbados, Jason Holder became the first West Indies player to top the MRF Tyres ICC Test All-Rounder Rankings since Sir Garfield Sobers in 1974.
