Jersey and Vanuatu secured the top two positions in the ICC Men’s
The global pathway to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 began in September 2017, as eight teams travelled to South Africa to compete in the ICC World Cricket League Division 5 across four venues in Benoni.
The eight teams - Cayman Islands, Germany, Ghana, Guernsey, Italy, Jersey, Qatar and competed in two groups of four each, with the positions for the overall tournament. The top two teams were promoted to Division 4, one remained in Division 5 and the remaining teams
Jersey and Vanuatu secured the top two positions, qualifying for Division 4, which was to be played in Malaysia in April 2018. Player of the Tournament Ben Stevens of Jersey starred on to victory over Vanuatu, as the islanders were crowned champions.

Qatar’s Tamoor Sajjad led his team to a three- wicket victory against Italy to take third place in a closely fought match at Willowmoore A and secured their Division 5 status, whilst Italy
chase down Guernsey’s 269 for seven and Guernsey had to settle for sixth place.
a six-wicket win against Cayman Islands at Agbomadzie stealing the show with a superb all-round display, as the Cayman Islands .
