Silverado, based in Irvine, Calif., has named Simeon Purkey administrator of its new Bellevue memory care community, which supports 56 residents. Most recently, he was ex-
ecutive director at a Texas memory care community.
Carlsbad, Calif.-based Solstice Senior Living has hired Lisa Amber as the regional director of sales and marketing for Solstice’s South region. She previously was assistant vice president of sales and marketing for Allegro Living’s South Florida region. Solstice has also added three sales specialists to its cor- porate team. Laura Hicks was most recently corporate sales specialist at Anthology Senior Living. Mary Swip-Benoist was manager of business development for ProMedica and Heartland Hospice. Niccole Ohlemeyer Eye was most recently internet sales manager for The Arbor Company.

LONGTIME LEADER CHRIS COATES RETIRES
Chris Coates, president and CEO of Abilene-based company ER Senior Management, has announced his retirement. He has served as chairman of Argentum when it was known as the Assisted Living Federation of America and has been active on a national basis in promoting and improving senior living for more than 30 years.
In addition to co-founding ER Senior Management and other Evergreen Companies, Coates served as President and COO of American Retirement Corporation. He will remain principal and board member in the Evergreen Companies.

New directors include Cindy Baier, president and CEO, Brookdale; Jack Callison, CEO, Sunrise Senior Living; Tana Gall, president, Merrill Gardens; Mary Ellen Pisanelli, senior vice president, legal and administration, Welltower, Inc.; and Aaron Webb, CEO, CHI Living Communities.
“These welcome additions to the board bring experience and knowledge that will help provide valuable direction,” said Pat Mulloy, Argentum Board of Directors chairman. “The entire Argentum board is committed to advancing senior living as the industry faces times of challenge as well as innovation and opportunity.”
