The staff at Hexagon Care Services makes a difference to the lives of the young people and supported adults they look after and educate every day, in order to create more positive futures.
Hexagon Care is a proudly Preston national success story, with more than 40 children’s homes, eight schools, two adult homes, and contracts with numerous local authorities across England.
Hexagon Care provides residential accommodation, education and specialist therapeutic services to over 160 young people with a workforce of over 500 people, making it the fourth largest provider in the UK.
Throughout 2019, the company enjoyed strong commercial success and growth while continuing to deliver its services ethically and ensuring outstanding outcomes for its young people.
It was clear for the Red Rose Awards judges to see that these values run through the very heart of the business, saying: “Hexagon has a solid business model that is changing the care industry. Alongside the financial success, their strong value set, ethos and absolute care for their clients shone through.”

For example, they only employ staff who are positive role models with a determination to help those they look after and to educate them to turn their lives around.
Staff truly are the organisation’s greatest asset and with their professionalism and commitment, Hexagon Care achieved a 100 per cent rating of Good or Outstanding from regulators in both their children’s homes and schools, which is a rare achievement in the sector.
For staff to achieve such great outcomes, Hexagon Care supports them with ground-breaking, highly focussed and individualised training programmes. The company is a true people business which strongly believes in looking after its employees in order to offer the right support to those they care for.
The judges added: “The team is also meticulous in how it developed its training platforms with its ‘head, heart and hands’ concept. It was clear to see the evidence of the training results and its impact on staff and the business.”
Julian Dale-Hutchinson, the company’s quality and compliance manager, said on winning the In-House Training Award: “For the past seven years, we have worked tirelessly to develop the training department and the entire team is proud and humbled to receive this award.
“To receive recognition for the quality, credibility and depth of our training programme and the impact our training has on participants, subsequently improving the positive outcomes for young people, is genuinely appreciated and means a great deal.”
