depher.com About us

Disability and Elderly Plumbing and Heating Emergency Repair (DEPHER) provides vulnerable people with access to vital emergency plumbing and heating works that are free in the winter and discounted in the summer.

We rely on public donations to cover all labour and materials.

Our achievements We provide more than just heating and plumbing. We have opened a community shop in Burnley offering deals including 10 items of food for £3 and free nappies and baby wipes to struggling parents.

We have donated a considerable amount of nappies to a local nursery and have a fully funded sports coach providing enrichment activities in four local primary schools.

Our aim is to promote healthy lifestyles and build confidence and resilience in the next generation.

What it would mean to win DEPHER winning this award would spread awareness of how many people are struggling behind closed doors and are embarrassed to ask for help or can not receive the help that they need.

It would allow us to provide our services to more people and highlight the importance of the donations that we receive.

Finalist in Not-for-profit Award

James Anderson Owner, DEPHER CIC

About us

GA is a family-owned private-label pet food manufacturer based in Chorley. We create recipes using the finest raw materials sourced from farms and fisheries we know and trust. Our partners are traditional pet shops and corporate brands that use these recipes to create their own pet food brand.

Our achievements

GA has enjoyed significant growth in both sales (up 20 per cent) and profit. We have continued to invest in European expansion with nine wholly owned European subsidiaries exporting over 50 per cent of net sales. We have also invested in new infrastructure, and our £100m Ingredients Kitchen opened in May 2022.

We have sought to continue investing in the “GA Family” with a dedicated career development team and celebrate individual success with company-wide voting for a colleague of the quarter award.

What it would mean to win

It would mean a great deal to GA if we were to win an award. Still, principally, it’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the ongoing success of GA with long-serving members of the family who contribute every day.

About us Kingswood Homes is a rapidly growing, forward-thinking SME developer.

Based near Preston we have developments in Elswick and Feniscowles, with plans for new homes in Hoddlesden.

Our achievements Kingswood has revolutionised the way homes are built and sold.

We’ve invested in gaming-style virtual reality technology so buyers can ‘explore’ a development before it’s built.

Instead of building identikit homes with fixed floor plans, we give customers the power to ‘shift’ walls with our industry-leading Shape Your Home concept.

The two combined have made our homes a popular choice and we’re steadily increasing the number of homes we build.

This year we’re aiming to build more than 150 homes, including one we have given away to Derian House Children’s Hospice which helped raise £450,000 worth of vital funds.

What it would mean to win We are continuing to push boundaries and do things differently both on a regional level (where we build our homes) and a national level (when comparing ourselves to our larger counterparts).

Winning a Red Rose Award would top off an incredible few years and spur us on to reach our future target of delivering 250 completions a year by 2025.
