role, helping other businesses to succeed. She worked with support organisations such as Business Link and Enterprise4all and for the last 15 years has run her own company, Profitoptimiser Enterprises.
Not only are there innumerable businesses across Lancashire who have benefited from her insight and expertise, but she also received the British Empire Medal for her contribution to enterprise and skills in Burnley.
Why she inspires
Sandra Cottam-Shea Managing director, SCS Logistics
Previously working in the care and tourism sectors, with a stint in an emergency services control room, Sandra founded SCS Logistics 11 years ago. Starting out with three trucks, the company now sends its fleet of 37 from its state-of-the-art, fully automated warehouse to destinations throughout Europe, generating annual revenues in the region of £3.5m.
She is actively involved in promoting the health and wellbeing of her team and organising fundraising events and donating money to local charities. Sandra has also served the local business community as a non-executive director of the Lancaster & District Chamber of Commerce since 2016. Late last year, she became the first person to receive Lancashire Business View’s personality of the year award.

Alongside this, she has set up a number of initiatives including a Women in Digital group to offer support and guidance. She works alongside unions and support agencies to make sure everyone has access to quality support.

Kelly-Ann has played an integral role in Sundown’s rapid growth over the last two years, where headcount has increased from 12 members of staff to 73. She has driven recruitment, attending jobs fairs and working with schools to inspire people to take up a career in tech.
Sundown is a supporter of many community projects in and around Accrington and Kelly- Ann herself, as a believer in championing female talent and empowering girls through sport, is currently chair of Accrington Stanley Women FC.

Through her company Liz helps train businesses, charities and individuals to make better use of digital technologies both in the corporate world and in everyday life.
Zoe Hooton Director, HPA Architects
After qualifying as an architect, Zoe joined HPA in 2012 and became a director four years later, making her one of the youngest architect directors in the North of England.
Zoe has formed an Architecture Youth Group in collaboration with Lancaster and Morecambe charity Escape2Make. She holds various positions including being a mentor and advisor within RIBA, sitting on the council of Women in Property and the advisory board of the new school of architecture at Lancaster University.
