HERE’S SOMETHING TO SHOUT ABOUT

The countdown is on to this year’s Lancashire Business Expo at Preston’s Guild Hall.

The annual event provides the opportunity for businesses across the county to grow, thrive and succeed. Now in its seventh year, the highly anticipated gathering attracts over 150 exhibitors and more than 2,000 delegates.

This year’s big B2B event will take place on Friday March 24. Organised by the Shout Network, Lancashire Business View is once again official media partner.

The expo is the perfect opportunity for organisations to promote themselves, network with like-minded people, build strong relationships and, of course, generate new leads.

TOURISM’S STARS ARE THE MAIN ATTRACTION

The shining stars of Lancashire’s tourism and hospitality sector were honoured at a special awards night celebrating the best the county has to offer.

The 2022 Lancashire Tourism Awards took place at the new Blackpool Conference and Exhibition Centre, with Steve Royle of Britain’s Got Talent as the guest presenter.

Lancashire Business View was a sponsor of the glittering event which took place in early February.

This year’s Special Recognition Award, selected by the judges across all the finalists, was awarded to Crow Wood Hotel and Spa Resort by Andrea Challis, who chairs Marketing Lancashire’s board.

Earlier in the evening Andrea addressed the gathering, telling the audience: “I am honestly in awe of the strength and diversity of our wonderful sector here in Lancashire.

“I have learnt through my involvement with Marketing Lancashire, and the other organisations and initiatives that I am a part of, that we have our own businesses, our own challenges and our own opportunities for growth, but when we work together, we can, and we do, achieve so much more.”

Rachel McQueen, chief executive of Marketing Lancashire, followed Andrea’s speech with her review of the last year, a year that saw Lancashire ‘fighting back’ from the impact of Covid on the tourism and hospitality sector.

She said: “Success in 2022 was hard fought, hard won, against all the odds. But successes there were, and significant ones too.”
