THRIVING SMEs ARE INVALUABLE TO OUR COUNTY’S SUCCESS

By Michael Shroot, Chief executive, Woodcocks Haworth & Nuttall Solicitors

Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall are delighted to be headline sponsors of this year’s Hot 100 which recognises the success of the county’s most profitable SMEs all of whom are shining lights of Lancashire’s economic growth.

Over the last 12 months it has been encouraging to see many businesses bouncing back to where they were pre pandemic.

There have, however, been other factors such as the start of the war in the Ukraine which have affected supply chains.

In addition, the cost of living crisis has meant that the costs involved in running a businesses have increased. The result has been that whilst many businesses have seen their revenue increase, overall profits are actually down.

It is important to recognise the companies that have worked hard to

overcome these challenges and to celebrate their success. This is why we feel it is so important to support the Hot 100 feature and to help support businesses, allowing them to continue to thrive and contribute to Lancashire’s economy.

We are once again encouraged to see the wide range of businesses that are included in this year’s list from across a breadth of sectors – demonstrating the truly diverse skill set that we have in our county.

We value the importance of thriving businesses and how invaluable this is to the county’s success. We pride ourselves on going above and beyond to support our clients and have a long history of working with businesses whether they are start ups, mergers or firms that have been in business as long as we have!

We are passionate about our roots in Lancashire and will continue to celebrate all that is great about this fantastic county.
