HALF A CENTURY OF SERVICE ADDS UP TO SUCCESS
The world of accountancy is filled with figures but one in particular stands out at Jones Harris. The Fleetwood based firm is celebrating 50 years of service to Lancashire’s business community.
The impressive numbers don’t end there. The four directors of the independent chartered accountants have together amassed more than 100 years of experience in the Fleetwood headquartered business.
Over half a century, Jones Harris has evolved and adapted to reflect changes in society, technology and legislation.
Founding director Charles Bryning says: “We’ve seen recessions, power shortages, three-day weeks and a pandemic and we’ve come through it all strongly.
“The ethos behind the business has always been the same. For us service is everything. That is our mantra and that push to improve and provide great service never ends.”
Charles, who founded the business with Alan Newbold, who has recently retired, adds: “Our aim from day one has been to give our clients the service that they need. That is what we have created and built our reputation on.”
Today the business, based in offices in St Peter’s Place in the centre of the town, has 30 members of staff, with expertise in a range of disciplines including tax planning and VAT advice as well as payroll and autoenrollment. Some have been with the firm for 40 years.

First computer purchased. It filled our current boardroom and could do no more than produce sales invoices.
The firm employs its first full-time IT manager to service the growing investment and reliance on technology.
