Alcedo Care Group has opened an office in Lancaster. Launched with 28 permanent employees, it aims to increase this by 40 or 50 over the next six months, and has the capacity to help more than 90 clients across the Lancaster and Wyre area.


Age Concern Central Lancashire has received £50,000 from Electricity North West, United Utilities and Cadent Gas and will now work alongside the Preston North End Community and Education Trust in a joint effort to reach and support older people across Lancashire.

During the pandemic and lockdown, nurses were struggling to access new items, but the SPAR network of shops became a place where they could collect packages at a time that suited them.


Healthcare assistant Fiona Snape said: “At a time when coronavirus has had, and continues to have, a devastating impact on our fundraising and income, this initiative from James Hall & Co will help save the charity vital funds.”
