INVESTMENT SPOTLIGHT
AMBITIOUS PORTFOLIO OF PROJECTS FOR PENDLE
In Pendle we’re pressing ahead with new developments despite these challenging times. There is no go-slow!
Thanks to PEARL, Pendle Council’s Joint Venture Company with local developer, Barnfield Investment Properties, we are bringing an ambitious portfolio of projects to fruition.
PEARL’s flagship is Northlight and the transformation of this landmark Lancashire cotton mill on a seven acre site is nearing completion. Standing proud above the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, this grand, light- filled building is bringing something unique to the area.
People are moving in to enjoy state-of-the- art urban living in a rural location, with 40 out of the 85 contemporary and spacious apartments completed.
There are opportunities to enjoy culture, learning and leisure on site with stunning facilities at Burnley FC in the Community’s Leisure Box, In-Situ’s arts base in The Garage and Lancashire Adult Learning’s HQ in the elegant former office buildings of the mill.
And versatile new office spaces in the mill complex can accommodate start-up businesses to large PLCs, with free parking on site. Northlight offers far more than just
a place to work. It’s a place for creativity and recreation, where collaboration is actively encouraged.
Offering a range of great quality housing choice in Pendle is a top priority for us. We’ve launched the show home at Greenfields View in Colne where we are building family homes.
Council leader Mohammed Iqbal
work underway at Further Clough Head to build 90 homes in an elevated position with far-reaching views of Pendle Hill.
Through a new partnership between PEARL and Together Housing called PEARL Together, we’ve started work on a small new eco- friendly housing development off Harrison Drive in Colne. Harnessing the latest in green technologies for power and heating, the development has been made possible thanks to £3.5m Homes England Strategic Partnership funding.
In Nelson, Pendle Council has secured funding of £1.1m from Homes England to get
And Nelson, with its attractive town centre boulevard and 12m shuttle, is the focus of attention for £750k of funding under the Nelson Town Deal for strategic investment to be spent in Spring 2021. And we have a once in a generation opportunity to secure up to £25m from the Government’s new Towns Fund to support regeneration, skills and enterprise and connectivity in Nelson along with a Future High Streets £25m bid for a brighter future.
