BE BOLD, BE BRAVE by Laura Weldon

Managing director, StudioLWD

Visual marketing and brand awareness have, arguably, never been more important.

And, as we head into 2021, businesses that take a bold approach to their brand may have the edge in uncertain times.

Making sure you are visible, that your business is communicating with its customers and potential customers as clearly as possible, will remain absolutely key as we navigate the year ahead.

Digital channels have proven vital for consumer and professional businesses and, as we know, digital is visual, so what can you do to get noticed?

Total rebrand: Take the opportunity to present a whole new face to the world. If your business has changed, your existing brand may no longer represent what you do and who you want to talk to.

Brand refresh: Optimism breeds optimism. What better way to show the market that you’re ready for the challenges ahead than with a fresh new look.

Review marketing: Is your marketing collateral eye-catching, is it saying the right thing? Do you need new design or formats for use predominantly online?

Visual update: Has anyone looked at your external perception recently? Do your logo, your images, your website reflect who you are today? Will this still work for you tomorrow?

Digital first: Are your digital and social channels up to date? Are you making the most of the new – but now commonplace – technologies? At the very least, does your website work on mobile?

There’s going to be no easy rides in 2021. Give your business the best chance, be bold, be brave.

New Year, new ideas, new look...

Talk to us about how to get your brand and marketing up to scratch for 2021. 01253 892031 | hello@studiolwd.co.uk

NOW’S THE TIME TO NETWORK by Stephen Bolton

Commercial director, Lancashire Business View

One year ago, within this feature, I wrote about the importance of community. Nobody could have predicted just how vital this would become over the months ahead.

I believe that long-term relationships are the best way to do business. One-time sales will only get you so far, getting to really know another company, understand what drives them and how you can help is the true foundation for sustained success.

It’s the focal point of the Lancashire Business View brand. We’re all about getting the organisations within the county talking and doing business with each other.

We have 50,000 readers, and Lancashire companies spend £30bn each year. If we all come together, we stand our best chance of getting through this.

Some days, this can seem like an impossible task, but we - just like many of you - have found new ways to make it work.

For example, we have gone virtual with our popular schedule of events and received an incredible response to Lancashire Business Week, networking get-togethers, Sub36 Awards and more.

These have been a great complement to our magazine, website, weekly email and social media, because they’re people- focused and interactive.

It’s the strength of the relationships that we have built with our supporters that have allowed us to keep up momentum and to begin the year with confidence, and it’s the opportunity for our readers to build their own relationships that makes these events so popular.

So if networking has slipped down your agenda during lockdown, you may be missing out. And if you’re looking for ways to better connect with the county, give me a call to find out how you can join the conversation through Lancashire Business View.
