WinCan WEB - safe, secure and easy access to pipeline inspection data via the cloud

In the almost half a century that pipeline industries across the globe have utilised wastewater pipeline condition assessment information to manage and maintain their networks the management of the inspection data itself has constantly been a problem. There has been the need to ensure easy, clear and speedy access to wastewater pipeline condition survey data by the engineers running the net works. Historically this has been cumbersome and unfriendly.

For almost 20 years WinCan has strived to meet the demand for the level of survey information accuracy and accessibility sought by the industry and the WinCan name has over time become a world leader for the provision of survey data assessment software with its WinCan product family, with WinCan systems using WRc assessment categories in the UK and the software being used by 1000 s of licensed clients in over 70 countries.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

After a number of incarnations, starting with WinCan 6 and progressing through Versions 7 and 8 to the most recent WinCan VX in 2016, data collection on pipeline condition is now more extensive and detailed than it has ever been. As well as the survey investigation software the WinCan product family also includes:

• WinCan Analyst • WinCan Map VX • WinCan LaserScan • WinCan VX Rehab Planning tool • WinCan VX Manhole inspection module • WinCan VX CleverScan

Whilst WinCan VX forms the core of the entire WinCan product family report data handling has evolved with the phenomenon that is WinCan WEB along with the latest refinements that have recently been added.

WINCAN WEB

For many years typical industry standard survey reporting systems have evolved from printed reports and video tape, to the world of digital with CD and DVD delivery and more recently hard drives and USB memory sticks. Ultimately, this required a physical delivery of the report always involving personnel, time and cost.

WinCan is once again ahead of the game with the introduction of its evolutionary WinCan WEB software, a cloud delivery and storage solution for CCTV inspection data collected using WinCan

reporting software that allows survey reporting using on line delivery over the internet using a dedicated, secure and fully backed-up cloud based server.

Once a pipeline section or full pipeline survey has been completed all the operator needs is an internet connection to upload the survey data to WinCan WEB. The easy process minimises the time required for the transfer of data. This not only means that more survey time on site is available but also reduces the off-survey time required to handle the data process.

All the operator has to do is simply select the project that is to be uploaded, whether new, ongoing or updating existing data and send it to the cloud. The data is quickly processed and published to the client with a project link being sent to the client by email. For larger customers or ongoing contracts an account is created where the client can access all the company s surveys online instantly from any device and/or location with a simple click allowing client engineers and managers to review pictures, the full survey video, print reports and even download the project in its entirety for storage of a locally-held, off-line copy.

WEB READY

One recent development in the WinCan WEB family is WEB Ready which is an initiative to help customers understand products capable of direct connection and upload of CCTV data to WinCan WEB.

The companys WinCan Embedded

software allows industry-standard data input on site to be incorporated into a camera systems hardware. Until recently data transfer was manual using a USB memory stick to transfer data to the office WinCan software introducing a
