HASTINGS HOTELS INTRODUCES TREATMENTS FOR CANCER SUFFERERS
Hastings Hotels (UKI300) is introducing new spa treatments for guests who are suffering from cancer at Slieve Donard Resort & Spa and Culloden Estate & Spa in Northern Ireland. The range of face and body treatments have been developed by cancer therapy specialist Wellness for Cancer and spa operator ESPA. Hastings’ spa therapists
have been trained to provide
services for guests undergoing, and recovering from, cancer treatment.
GIBRALTAR PROMOTES NEW CAVE ATTRACTION
Gibraltar Tourist Board (EU348) is promoting a new tourist experience at St Michael’s Cave, due to open in early 2020, which uses artificial intelligence to create projections of key moments and characters in Gibraltar’s history to take visitors on an “interconnecting and unforgettable journey”. Gibraltar will also be launching its latest promotional campaign during WTM London.
WEST HOLLYWOOD WELCOMES NEW HOTELS
A host of new hotels will be in focus for West Hollywood Travel + Tourism Board (NA440) at WTM London, including the recent opening of the eco-luxury 1 Hotel West Hollywood and West Hollywood Edition, both located close to Beverly Hills. The Los Angeles suburb will also be boosted by the opening of Pendry Hotel and Residences on the legendary Sunset Strip in spring 2020.
YUCATAN AIMS TO ATTRACT MORE EUROPEAN VISITORS
Michelle Fridman, minister of tourism for Yucatan (LA140), is leading the delegation to WTM London this year as the Mexican state bids to attract more European visitors to stay in neighbouring Cancun and Riviera Maya. Key selling points for Yucatan are Mayan culture, gastronomy, archaeological sites, adventure activities and stays in luxurious haciendas.
LONGEVITY RESORT OPENS ON ALGARVE COAST
Longevity Health & Wellness Hotel (EU1000) has opened in Alvor on Portugal’s western Algarve coastline. The property features a two-floor medical spa offering state- of-the-art diagnostics and therapies for health and wellbeing. The hotel features 70 rooms and suites, as well as two restaurants including a rooftop cafe and tea lounge with panoramic views.
MYCONIAN COLLECTION OFFERS CURATED EXPERIENCES
Greek hotel group Myconian Collection (EU1100, EU1150), which runs nine properties in Mykonos, has launched a new range of “curated” experiences for guests to discover the island’s “hidden secrets”. Activities include visiting the Unesco World Heritage Site of Delos; private wine-tastings with a Myconian sommelier; cooking classes at the chef’s table; a helicopter trip around the island; and sailing in a private yacht.

YOSEMITE MARKS MOUNTAINEERING MILESTONE
Yosemite Mariposa County Tourism Bureau (NA440) will be highlighting the 50th anniversary of Yosemite Mountaineering School, the only authorised climbing guides in the Californian national park, who help visitors to scale its highest peaks including Half Dome, El Capitan and Yosemite Falls.
LAS VEGAS CHAMPIONS FUN IN 2020
“We champion fun” in 2020 – that’s the message from Las Vegas (NA150), which will be highlighting a host of new developments including the arrival of the Raiders NFL team, who will begin playing in the city from autumn 2020. There will also be residencies from top-selling pop stars including Shania Twain and Sting, while Cirque du Soleil has just opened its latest show, R.U.N, at Luxor Resort & Casino.
