Gothenburg is the musical heart of Sweden. On summer weekends, the city comes alive with open-air entertainment and pop-up art displays. Get a little lost along the historic streets while soaking up the atmosphere. That’s part of the charm of Gothenburg, especially around the Haga District. Here, locals and tourists alike relax in cafes on cobbled streets among the vintage buildings while partaking in the Swedish tradition of fika; a moment of peace in your day, usually coupled with a coffee and a sweet pastry treat. It’s a mood that carries through the Botanical Gardens


and up the steep steps to the stone fortress, Skansen Kronan, a small tower on the hill looking over the city. Afterwards, head to the cozy cafe hidden in the Gothenburg Museum of Art, among six levels of European masters who understand the magic of art; Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Rubens and Picasso. As the sun sets, music calls again, this time from the city’s most famous feature: Liseberg. By day, Liseberg is known for its amusement rides, from thrilling rollercoasters to the traditional carousel, while at night, it opens up an outdoor dance floor and plays host to a range of concerts.
