Covid-19 testing requirements for visitors have now been dropped in Australia. Be aware, though, that states and territories can apply their own travel restrictions, so ensure you understand the requirements specific to the state or territory you’re entering. Travelers will still be required to wear a mask while on international flights. All international tourists need to apply


for an eligible visa. Before you apply for your visa, make sure you have a valid passport. Most tourists from Canada and the United States will be eligible for an Electronic Travel Authority visa (subclass 601), which can be applied for through the Australian ETA app.


Need to know: New Zealand


Visitors to New Zealand must complete the online New Zealand Traveller Declaration, which collects travel and Covid-19 health-related information. The declaration must be submitted up to 28 days before your flight. If visitors meet the declaration


requirements, they’ll receive a Traveller Pass, which they’ll be asked to show at check-in and when they arrive in New Zealand. U.S. and Canadian travelers must apply for a New Zealand Travel Authority visa waiver before visiting the


country, and will also need to pay an International Visitor Levy of NZ$35 ($21) when applying for the ENZeTA. As of July 2022, vaccinated


visitors from visa waiver countries — which currently include the U.S. and Canada — can enter New Zealand, but must have a valid digital or paper Covid-19 vaccine certificate. Children aged 16 and under do not need to be vaccinated. Travelers must also take rapid antigen tests after arrival, which will be given to them at the airport.
