In the morning, head out on a shopping excursion — there’s Native American jewelry and pottery for almost every budget at Tin-Nee-Ann Trading Co. or rummage for antiques, consignments and vintage homeware at The Raven. Then there’s Jackalope, offering everything from jewelry to rugs, ceramics and pottery. Shopping complete, hop on board the new
Sky Railway, which opened in December 2021, for a trip south through the scenic desert to the old railroad town of Lamy. Billed as an ‘adventure train,’ the journeys are themed around local history, wine and beer tasting. Lunch at the legendary Legal Tender, a 19th-century, Old West saloon and

the oldest operating bar in the state. If the train is too time consuming, visit Meow Wolf, a fantastical, immersive art-museum experience co-created by Game of Thrones writer George R.R. Martin. Back in town, spend the evening
exploring the galleries and cafes in the revamped Santa Fe Railyard, and stop for a local brew at Second Street Brewery. If a night out is on the cards, follow the Santa Fe Margarita Trail, or just settle in on the patio at El Farol for a flamenco performance and Spanish tapas washed down with a Smoking Bull Margarita made with Kimo Sabe mezcal and Chimayo red chile. You can’t get any more New Mexican than that.
