Eventyrholmen is a unique lodge located on a private island, where guests can enjoy close encounters with nature. A single building in the 1960s, the property has since grown into a sprawling lodge that’s harmoniously integrated into the natural terrain. Eventyrholmen, built for comfort and relaxation, is elegantly furnished in a modern style with a warm, homely touch. The surrounding area is teeming with wildlife,
making it a hotspot for animal enthusiasts. It’s also a brilliant base for fishing, with opportunities to go fly fishing for Norwegian ford trout available virtually on the lodge’s doorstep. Eventyrholmen offers many experiences,
depending on what guests are looking for. Those in the mood for active adventure can set off on boat trips, or go kayaking, cycling, diving or swimming. Guests who prefer more relaxed pursuits can settle in with a good book around the firepit or swing idly in a hammock. Guests can make use of the lodge’s private
boats, exploring the fords at their leisure, or set off on a fishing trip. Kayaking, too, is one of
the most exhilarating ways to experience the surrounding area. On the opposite shore, there’s a nature park with free entry for the whole family. To experience Nordhordland fully, there
are a number of attractions that will provide rich cultural experiences and great memories. Hillesvåg woollen goods factory, for example, produces wool and yarn from Norwegian sheep. The factory received status as an économusée (working museum) in 2013, and visitors can take part in a guided tour and watch the process from raw material to finished product, and also buy yarn and wool products. At the Bjørn West Museum, you can find out
about the resistance struggle in the Matrefellene, while the castle in Modalen is a wonderful and spectacular mountain hike for the whole family. The nearest big city, Bergen, is just a 40-minute
drive away. Here you can visit the aquarium, hike in the city mountains, visit the attractions of Bryggen, Fløyen and Fisketorget, and choose from a variety of guided tours in the fords along the beautiful western coast.
