Z9 Resort is a multiple-award-winning, globally renowned ‘floating’ resort, perched on the shores of Srinakarin Dam in Kanchanaburi. Everything has been designed with nature in mind, with the architecture’s flowing lines representing the lake, and the lobby’s design is based on lunar cycles. The resort is run according to a renewable
design concept of reduce, reuse and recycle. Original wood from the existing building has been used throughout the hotel, in its decor, furniture and design flourishes. Wood that would otherwise have been wasted has been
turned into sheets of OSB (compressed wood strands) and used to form the ceilings of many of the resort’s buildings. One of the most important aspects of
integrating the resort’s structures with the natural surroundings is keeping the environmental footprint as minimal as possible. Very few onsite contour adjustments have been applied, and lightweight steel has been used throughout the construction of the resort, allowing for faster and cleaner construction when compared with concrete. The property also makes use of a closed-loop water treatment system, so guests can rest assured that their aquatic activities have minimal impact. The top priorities for the guest experience
