Take control of your health with faster access to diagnostic scans

Early diagnosis isn’t just important; it can be lifesaving — and access to modern scanning is a vital part of that

Alliance Medical works alongside the NHS, helping people to take charge of their health. Supporting more than 800,000 patients every year, it delivers fast access to a wide range of scans — helping to cut wait times, speed up diagnosis and bring advanced scan- ning technology far closer to the com- munities that need it.

WHY EARLY DIAGNOSIS MATTERS When it comes to your health — speed and access matters. PET-CT, CT and MRI scans can detect problems at their earliest, most treatable stage. From spotting cancer before it spreads, to identifying heart or lung conditions, or simply providing reassurance on per- sistent injuries, medical imaging al- lows health outcomes to be improved. “Long waits delay treatment and

increase anxiety. Tat’s why we’re fo- cused on improving access and diag- nostic certainty, without delay. Our job is simple: help the NHS reduce waiting lists, and ensure people get the care they need, when and where they need it,” said Neil Fisher, Chief Medical Officer, Alliance Medical.

CUTTING WAITING TIMES WITH FAST, RELIABLE SCANS Working in partnership with more than 100 NHS trusts, Alliance Medical delivers scans in hospitals, Commu- nity Diagnostic Centres and mobile units nationwide. Investment in new technology, additional capacity and community-based services has helped reduce waiting times in several regions — including MRI waits by more than 40% and CT waits by 68% in some lo- cations — getting thousands of people the answers they need sooner.

LEADING THE WAY IN CANCER DETECTION As the UK’s leading PET-CT provider, Alliance Medical is investing in ad- vanced digital scanners that produce sharper images and support earlier

cancer detection. Tese upgrades are expanding capacity across the country and helping clinicians diagnose dis- ease with greater accuracy. Te organisation also plays a key role

in national screening programmes, including lung cancer screening (LCS). By taking mobile CT scanners direct- ly into communities, the programme is reaching people at higher risk and helping to tackle long-standing health inequalities. “So far, we’ve delivered more than

87,000 lung cancer screening scans and diagnosed over 1,000 early stage cancers — 80% at stage one or two. Tese numbers matter, because when lung cancer is caught early, survival improves dramatically. Around 65% of people diagnosed at stage one are still alive after five years, compared with just 5% at stage four. Early de- tection genuinely saves lives — and our nationwide network is helping make that possible,” said Heidi Hiscox, Lung Cancer Screening Programme Manager, Alliance Medical.

FOR THOSE SEEKING SPEED, CERTAINTY AND FLEXIBILITY While Alliance Medical’s partnership with the NHS remains at the heart of what it does, patients who wish to use Private Medical Insurance or self-pay for a scan can also access its national network of diagnostic solutions. At 40 centres across the UK — all

rated ‘Good’ or above by the CQC — appointments can be arranged as soon as the next day, with reports typ- ically available within 24 to 48 hours. Booking is straightforward, and teams are on hand to guide patients through every step.
