Polar Routes targets more agents with revamped site

Polar Routes has relaunched to the trade after revamping its website, increasing the number of operators it works with and expanding its sales team.


The cruise specialist agency


offers packaged and tailor-made polar itineraries to destinations such as the Arctic, Norwegian coast and Antarctica with 21 lines including Silversea, Hurtigruten and Quark Expeditions. Polar Routes’ revamped website – polarroutes.co.uk – features live pricing and departure dates. Search results can be filtered


by region, sailing date, operator, ship and ‘cruise features’, such as number of landings per day, ship size and activities. To book, agents can either ring


or email Polar Routes. Bookings cannot be made on the


site but director Martin Johnson said he would review whether to add that functionality after the peaks campaign. He said: “We believe there needs


to be a conversation in that first phase of the booking process. “We can be a one-stop shop for agents. We can compare all of the

Fred Holidays has launched a new travel agent portal featuring incentives, promotions and marketing material for itself and four other operators. US-based small-ship operator


Victory Cruise Lines is one of five operators included after appointing Fred Holidays as its UK general sales agent this year. Pullmantur Cruises, Amadeus River Cruises and Fred Cruises also feature. Almost 50 agents signed up to the portal when it went live last week after a soft launch in August. Fred Holidays plans to host a
