Ponant creates UK group on Facebook

Ponant has set up a Facebook group for UK agents in a bid to strengthen links with the trade. The group, Ponant Experts UK &
Ireland, will enable the French line to share product news, incentives, ship visits and events with agents. Agents can give feedback
about the line and enter monthly competitions. Stephen Winter, Ponant’s
international sales director, said the UK market was a priority and was the first market where the line
had launched such an initiative. He said: “It shows our continued
involvement and dedication to the UK and Irish markets and our ambition to significantly grow our share of that market.” Ponant has started quoting prices in pounds to encourage British passengers and agents to book. Winter confirmed Ponant will
fix its prices before the UK leaves the EU in March 2019, so prices will not fluctuate if the pound’s value changes – a move he hopes will encourage early bookings. “We do not do last-minute deals,
we do early discounts,” Winter said. Ponant is to expand its UK sales

Avalon features eight long-haul itineraries in 2020 river range
