Shearings adds 20 tours in revamped 2019 range

Phil Davies phil.davies@travelweekly.co.uk

Twenty new tours are included in a revamped Britain & Ireland brochure released by Shearings Holidays for 2019.

The new design includes price

panels showing monthly ‘from’ rates for each of the transport options available on the tours. Previously, one overall lead-in

price for the season was shown. The price panels also show different rates for the various transport options available on each tour – coach, rail or air – in an effort to help agents to see the flexibility and options available. Three editions of the brochure

have been created, covering the north, south and West Country. An online agent toolkit has been

updated with new posters, images and window cards.

Also included is a new ‘Bay

Preferred Hotels’ collection of hand-picked properties. New tours for next year include

one featuring a trip on Scotland’s Jacobite Steam Railway, better known as the Harry Potter films’ ‘Hogwarts Express’; a Peak District tour that stays at England’s oldest hotel; a Cornwall and Poldark tour;

a 12-day British Isles discovery cruise; and a day trip to Guernsey for clients staying in Bournemouth. An early-booking discount of

up to £50 per couple applies to bookings made by September 30 for departures between April 1 and October 27, 2019. Managing director Jane Atkins said: “We have refreshed the look

OUT NOW: Shearings’ brochure features the Jacobite Steam Railway

“The brochure features an extensive section on event breaks, which are proving really popular with agents”

of the brochure as we wanted to make it as easy as possible for agents to navigate. “We have some great new

tours available for 2019 and the brochure features an extensive section on event breaks, which are proving really popular with agents as they help make the difficult easy. “It is important for agents to

remember that early booking will secure the best choices for their customers, be it their preferred seats on the coach or their preferred room type at a hotel. Our events packages also sell out, so early booking will avoid

disappointment.” shearingsagents.com

Bourne Leisure takes on Secker to sell its three brands in south

Bourne Leisure, parent company of Haven, Butlin’s and Warner Leisure Hotels, has appointed Craig Secker as trade sales executive. He will support agents in the south of England, visiting agencies and leading Bourne training sessions on its three brands. Secker (pictured) has four years’ industry experience, most recently as travel consultant at Club Med where he’d worked since 2017. He has also had roles at Scott Dunn and Newmarket Holidays. “My ambition for some time has been to move away from my reservations background and into a more face-to-face role,” he said. “Bourne Leisure’s three brands

offer variety. They have lots of exciting developments and I hope to help convey this information successfully to the trade.” Louise Tansey, national sales manager at Bourne Leisure, will cover the north following Secker’s appointment, which takes the Bourne Leisure trade sales team to two. Tansey added: “The growth of our trade sales team is an exciting time for our brands and we’re delighted to have Craig

on board.” bourneleisure sales.co.uk
