Agents sail the Rhine
Fourteen lucky agents sailed on A-ROSA FLORA on a four-night fam trip on the Rhine last month, before heading to Amsterdam for the Clia River Cruise Conference. A-ROSA FLORA is one of seven ships designed for the international market. Shearings Holidays invited its top agents to join winners from Travel Weekly’s competition
Day One
Guests arrived in Cologne from all over the UK and were greeted with a warm welcome on board, before heading out to explore the city. Dinner on A-ROSA is a mix of gourmet buffets and live cooking. No set times or table sizes mean guests can choose to eat whenever the restaurant is open.
Day Two Having already arrived in
Rotterdam, we had breakfast on A-ROSA FLORA before setting off on a walking tour. In the evening, we enjoyed exclusive dining in the speciality restaurant, which included paired wines with each course – an option for all on board.
Day Three We awoke in Amsterdam and
enjoyed a city tour, by bus and on
foot. After lunch on board, some of the group enjoyed spending time in the spa with its relaxation room.
Day Four Today was spent relaxing on the river
as we returned to Cologne. We were treated to a fantastic ship tour, which gave the group a great insight into the running of the ship, including a visit to the captain’s chair and seeing the engine room with the chief engineer. In the evening, we enjoyed live music by an Irish guitarist.
Day Five We arrived in Cologne and spent
some time exploring before setting sail – with the accompaniment of a fantastic live band – for Amsterdam and the Clia River Cruise Conference.

Agents’ verdicts
“The food was excellent, and there was a great range of drinks. The lounge was very comfortable. There are yooÀ-Ìo-Viilin} Üin`oÜÃ] Ão you could see all the sights as you’re sailing along. And everyone was really friendly.” Simon Oram, The Travel 5JQR 5WVVQP %QNFƂGNF
“I liked the open deck at the top. Normally on river cruises, they tend to be on one level, but this one had two levels. There was a lovely atmosphere on the ship. Wherever you dock, you’re always in the heart of the city.” Alastair Bell, Appleby Travel, Cumbria
