As you know, a question on Irish Regional Geography has appeared every year at both Higher Level and Ordinary Level. So the more you practise answering questions on this topic, the better prepared you will be for the exam.
In this section, I have included a question on the development of secondary activities in an Irish region from the 2013 Higher Level paper. Although the answer is for a Higher Level question, most of the information given would also be required to answer an Ordinary Level question.
HIGHER LEVEL EXAM QUESTION
Examine the factors that influence the development of a secondary economic activity in an Irish region that you have studied.
Looking at the question, we can see that:
• ‘Factors’ is plural, which means at least two factors must be discussed.
• The region you
discuss must be Irish. Naming a European or a subcontinental region will result in 0 marks.
