The perfect day at Dartmouth Food Festival

f you happen to visit on the festival Saturday why not make the most of your day and try and fit in the best the festival has to offer; here is a quick guide on what not to miss …


Start your day with a quick


breakfast bite: you are at a food festival after all! Join us upstairs at Dartmouth Yacht Club to hear The Guardian’s food writer Felicity Cloake talk about her new book ‘Red Sauce, Brown Sauce: A British Breakfast Odyssey’. This includes a bacon sandwich with your choice of sauce of course.


Then head along the South Embankment, making your way through the festival exhibitor tents on the way. There is an excellent selection of stalls with the best food and drink the west country has to offer. Stop off at Sharpham and sample the local cheese produced just up the river, and don’t miss the guys at Flint and Flame demonstrating their amazingly sharp chef knifes. Salcombe Distilling will be offering a taster of all their great products; it’s not too early for gin is it!


As you wander round the Boat


Float, check out Dartmouth Fine Foods and pick up something tasty to take home. There are plenty more stalls in the Market Square not to be missed, and some great live music too.


Head back to the Royal Avenue
