“Duo Fu Duo Cai has been, and remains, a top performer for a number of years as has been one of its successors, Jin Ji Bao Xi. We have other games in this family coming through. These are specific concepts usually based in banks of 6-8, but we have a number of individual themes which offer all players

whatever it is that they are looking for.”

aspect of the detail from the cultural precision to the game mechanics and mathematics. As a result, it has remained a top performer for 10 years and its successors in the family have been instant hits.

Wayne: Like Jon, I am very proud of the Duo Fu Duo Cai family. It’s a simple game, but the enduring appeal that it has is something that we have not seen matched in this region. We’re hoping to build on that with Duo Fu Duo Cai Grand which seeks to evolve the series further and for the first time adds a hold and spin feature. I think it’s important that game families retain the essence of what made them successful but also seek to move the player on and teach them new mechanics and experiences.

How has the methodology driving the creation of game portfolios changed? Are product roadmaps curated differently?

Wayne: Tis is an area that we have been spending a lot of time developing. We take a segmented approach to game portfolio development, and we believe this helps us to select and greenlight the right games that help us to deliver our business goals. We divide both our games and our competitors’ games into different segments based on their game style, market intention and various other factors. We’re then able to assess our position in each segment and take a decision on how we wish to invest in that particular segment.

We’re then able to take the planning to the next
