that we need to support potential leaders today.

How important is it to support the participation of European attendees to the EDP, which is based in Nevada?

More information, more diversity and more viewpoints are critical for our industry to improve and there’s not just one way of tackling any given issue - there’s not just the US or Nevada way of doing things.

Tere is always information that can be gleaned from our colleagues in other regulated markets around the world, especially Europe. Tere are too many advancements, ideas and innovations we’d miss without those voices. So having a diverse and inclusive participation in the EDP increases the knowledge and thought level of the programme to gain an international perspective.

It is important to gain context and viewpoints from a variety of angles and having participants from Europe is intrinsic to the success of the overall programme.

Te EDP is unique - it doesn’t have a counterpart in the industry. Should we have more of these types of educational programmes in the industry?

We can always do more from an educational perspective, but there’s also a lot already being done. What I think is important is that we’re talking about these issues in a dedicated forum that’s not part of a commercial endeavour; the EDP is for individuals within the industry who are involved in the day-to-day business of gaming.

Te EDP is special as it allows industry executives to spend time with people in the same environment, while meeting and learning from their peers. Te relationships built at every EDP bear fruit two, five and 10 years down the road to the benefit of the industry as a whole.

Today’s EDP plants the seeds that bear fruit in the future. Do we need more of these events? Of course, but maybe what sets EDP apart is that it’s special, and also because it’s unique it draws out the best from people in that environment - and I’m not sure that we should dilute that.

EDP is an intense series of days, bringing people together in a unique way, so perhaps there can’t be more of these events - since there’s not enough time, people and energy to spend on multiple EDPs. - If you try to fragment it - perhaps

Te gaming industry relies on procuring quality talent, even more so since the impact of COVID, and whilst gaining access to that talent and providing opportunities for a broad spectrum of aspiring individuals is gaining momentum, initiatives such as the EDP are crucial to provide the platforms great people need, to make the right steps into the industry.

you don’t get the same benefit and same tangible relationships? I think the EDP is simply in a sweet-spot for what it provides.
