Q&A
Q: WHAT NUTRITION RESOURCES ARE AVAILABLE TO ME AT GIANT?
A: The GIANT Company nutritionists provide online classes for diabetes health, heart health, weight management, and general self-care. Anyone can jump into a virtual cooking demonstration with us as well.
One of our major pillars at The GIANT Company is the health of children. We do a virtual version of our in-store Mini Chef Mondays class three times a week called Mini Chef Mornings. We’ll make a snack together, read a book, or do an activity. The parents don’t even need to be there.

Q: HOW DO I CREATE BETTER EATING HABITS IN THE NEW YEAR?
A: Make your resolution the small action steps to achieve a goal rather than the big goal itself. Instead of “I’m going to lose 45 pounds,” try, “I’m going to add more veggies to my plate,” or “I’m going to trade two sugary drinks a day for water.” The good habits you build from these small changes are the real success, not just the number on the scale.
Focus on adding more food groups to every meal, especially protein- and fiber-rich foods that help you feel full. Try pouring snacks from the original container into a bowl. You often eat less when you see the whole quantity of what you intend to eat.
Remember that no food is good or bad. If you crave chocolate, nothing else will be as satisfying. For most people I would say, “Appreciate the treat, love yourself, forgive yourself, and move on.”
