Mill-Max Expands Omniball Series
OYSTER BAY, NY — Mill-Max has introduced new Omniball® spring-loaded connectors for ap - plications requiring multiple points of contact in sliding or rota- tional orientations. The unique Omniball spring-loaded contact (patent pending) features a rolling ball interface, en - abling contact to be made between components in axial and non-axial align- ments. These versatile con- nectors facilitate creative solutions for innovative interconnect arrangements while providing optimal electrical, mechanical, and structural reliability. The connectors utilize
Omniball contacts, spring- loaded pins in which the traditional plunger has been replaced by a gold-plated, brass ball. They are designed to opti- mize connections between com- ponents that slide or revolve into contact. When engaged, the ball compresses and rolls, allowing the mating surfaces to make con- tact and then easily slide parallel to each other while spring force acts to ensure consistent electri- cal contact is maintained. This rolling action prevents binding, premature wearing, and struc- tural failure that traditional,
plunger style, spring pin connec- tors can be prone to in these types of applications. These new connectors are an
excellent choice for any applica- tion that involves sliding or rotating connections, such as:
Omniball spring-loading contacts.
“twist & lock” cable connectors; docking stations; rack and server drawers as well as quick con- nects and blind mating applica- tions. They can be mounted in vertical or horizontal orienta- tions and can be used to elimi- nate cables where circuit board to bus bar connections are made
in tight spaces. Contact: Mill-Max
