July, 2022 APDIS Gap and Flush from Nikon Metrology
BRIGHTON, MI — Building on the recent successful launch by Nikon Metrology of the APDIS Laser Radar, which is helping to drive a paradigm shift in automotive body shop measurement and quality control, the company announces the launch of its APDIS Gap and Flush System. It introduces a unique, innovative, fully automated method to measure gap and flush on a moving pro- duction line for finished vehicles. The APDIS Laser Radar is the latest
generation of the product, offering higher speed and higher quality measurements. The APDIS Gap and Flush System utilizes the technology to provide fully automated, inher- ently safe measurements on a moving pro-
duction line, delivering reliable data from all around a vehicle, regardless of color or finish.
Developed in conjunction with VRSI,
which has many years of experience with successful Laser Radar installations in major automotive OEMs, Nikon’s APDIS Gap and Flush is an evolution in fully automated, high-speed, vehicle-on-wheels inspection. With the ability to track and measure at
conveyor speeds up to 140 mm/s, a large internal measurement volume, and utilizing three Laser Radars for all-round coverage, the system can be deployed to measure a wide range of vehicles from small hatchbacks to large SUVs and trucks and everything in between.
