Hello and welcome to the June edition of Tomorrow’s FM.

These early summer months, I’ve been told, are always the busiest in the FM calendar. With the Facilities Show 2018 just around the corner, it feels like this year’s biggest event is going to be one of the most significant yet

with the myriad of debates happening in the industry. From Carillion and the outsourcing dilemma to institute name changes and the productivity puzzle, there should be plenty of discussions between like-minded professionals.

We are taking this bumper issue with us to the Facilities Show 2018, so I

hope you’re all looking forward to an action-packed event. The Tomorrow’s FM team will be on stand P910, so please do come and say hello; we’re a friendly bunch and keen to talk to as many people as possible.

This month seems like the perfect time to be looking at Data and Document Management as we’re now just over two weeks into the General Data

Protection Regulations (GDPR) being enforced by law. Urgent Technology talks to us about harnessing the power of your own data whilst NFS Technology urge businesses to stop worrying so much about the new laws by using them as an opportunity to reap the benefits of practical data management.

It is exam season in schools, colleges and universities up and down the country meaning this is the best time to be shining a spotlight on

Educational Facilities. Whilst students are working hard to achieve the best results possible in their assessments, so too are businesses looking to

invest in the future of education. From SIKA revamping rooftops to Plants at Work looking at how biophilia can help increase the productivity and

wellbeing of students, there’s a broad range of subjects covered here that tap into the role of FMs in education.

With the proliferation of the NHS in the media of late, it seems an appropriate time to visit Hospitals and Healthcare Facilities. As the stress

of austerity measures has been laid bare over the past few months, Louise Hosking, IOSH Vice-President asks, who is looking after the mental health and wellbeing of our healthcare professionals?

Until the next issue, I wish you all the very best. Enjoy the read and I hope to see some of you at the Show.
