PUMP OF STEEL Australian Pump Industries’ range of cast 316 stainless steel high pressure piston pumps are designed for both cleaning and industrial applications. With 500 bar (7,300psi) pressure, the pump range is of real interest to a wide range of operators. These include general engineering, mining and applications involving salt water, in the areas of both marine and research.
Manufactured by Bertolini, the big pumps are marketed in Australia under the ‘Big Berty’ brand name by Australian Pump Industries. They can
be widely used in high pressure water blasters, drain cleaning equipment and for mine industrial processing applications.
The pumps are particularly energy efficient because of their design. They are all equipped with Bertolini’s unique ‘smart case’, a trademark design that uses a rib system to release heat away from the pump, eliminating high pump temperatures.
Pump heads are manufactured from 316 grade stainless steel with designs proportionate to the flow required for that particular model. Piston bolts are also 316 stainless steel, with precision machined ceramic
pistons that guarantee efficiency and minimum friction.
Seals are designed for high temperature, with stainless steel 316 intermediate rings, stainless steel 316 retainers and PTFE anti extrusion rings. The seals are built to the highest standards and represent state of the art technology.
Innovative stainless steel 316 valve caps offer a unique design that prevents cap failure due to over- pressurisation. It does this by isolating the valve cap threads with a bottom seal O-ring that is an exclusive Bertolini design.

ONE MACHINE – A SCRUBBER AND MORE
With the right accessories it is possible, using a single machine, to not only scrub and clean hard surfaces, but to also remove oil, rust and mill scale from steel flooring and even carpet backing from concrete.
The STG450 is a scrubber but is capable of more than floor cleaning and maintenance alone. Its accessories include interchangeable grinding plates, PCD plates, copper discs, sanding discs and diamond cleaning pads, and now a new range of brush plates extend its applications even further.
There are four different brush options: a Nylon Brush Plate, a Wire Brush Plate, and 3 x 8” brushes that fit onto a metal drive plate in Coarse Wire or Crimped Wire.
The Nylon Brush Plate is designed to scrub, with the flexible nylon lasting longer than polypropylene equivalents. It effectively scours to deep clean resin, terrazzo, marble, natural stone, paving, concrete and vinyl, and can be used with cleaning products and degreasing solutions but for an environmentally friendly operation, only water is needed.
The 8’’ Crimped Wire Brushes are medium duty, suitable for general cleaning and scarifying of concrete and for cleaning steel chequer plates.
The 8’’ Coarse Wire Brushes are heavy duty, for removing oil, dirt, rust, crud and scale from steel surfaces and for scarifying and cleaning oily, dirty concrete. The Wire Brush Plate will do the same but will also remove carpet backing from concrete floors.
