VERSATILE CLEANING POWER UNLEASHED

Harnessing the flexibility of battery power to the versatility of an advanced scrubber dryer makes

for an indispensable cleaning combination, says Gordon McVean, International Sales and Marketing Director of Truvox International.

Every building poses particular challenges for floor cleaning teams.

Heavily trafficked areas, contrasting types of flooring, specialist surfaces, daytime cleaning around a building’s users – each can test even the best cleaning teams. But all these tasks are well within the capabilities of the modern scrubber dryer. And what’s more, a compact model puts the cost- effectiveness of mechanised cleaning within reach of a comparatively modest premises and budget.

A versatile scrubber dryer can wash, mop, scrub and dry most floors in a single pass, while delivering the highest standards of professional cleaning.

At the same time these capabilities can boost the productivity of cleaning staff – significantly compared with hand-mopping, which is as labour- intensive as it is ineffective, causes greater disruption to building users, and poses a slip risk on damp floors.

The efficiency gains are achieved even in constricted areas such as toilets and washrooms, where a compact scrubber dryer will also raise standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

A major reason is the power of cylindrical brush technology, as used on our flagship Multiwash machines. Its counter-rotating cylindrical brushes exert four-to-six times more pressure than a rotary machine. This allows the scrubber dryer to scrub down into grout lines and other crevices, dislodging soils and bacteria.

The brush action and squeegee capture the contaminated liquid in a holding tank so only clean solution is applied to the floor. With excellent pick-up of used solution, drying is accelerated so that floors are safe to walk on sooner. The efficiency of the process also reduces the volume of solution required dramatically, so

there are valuable savings in chemical consumption as well as time and labour costs.

Consistently high cleaning performance is achieved across a wide variety of surfaces, including both hard and soft floor coverings. That extends to ‘difficult’ floors such as non-slip safety flooring, as well as tiling, rubber studded flooring and laminates. Equipped with the right brushes, the same scrubber dryer can also clean concrete, terrazzo, marble, slate, stone and composite vinyl surfaces. The Multiwash even takes low-pile carpets, entrance matting and escalators in its stride.

Where daytime cleaning is required, going cordless proves additional flexibility. The Multiwash 340/Pump Battery model avoids the trip risk from trailing cables, and the need for stop-start working. It can operate continuously for up to 50 minutes, covering large areas with its 34cm cleaning width. It also goes quietly about its job without compromising cleaning power or productivity. If necessary, operating time can easily be

extended with a quick-switch battery.

An optional side brush kit allows cleaning right up to skirting board level, which is important on curved safety floors.

Colour-coding helps ensure that brushes are dedicated to different applications, managing the risk of cross-contaminating kitchens and dining areas, for example, by transferring bacteria from washrooms and toilet areas.

Given their ergonomic design, both models are easy to handle and exchanging brushes is simple. Removing and cleaning solution tanks are straightforward tasks, as is adjusting brush height. So operating a Multiwash requires minimal training.

Where even higher levels of productivity are required, for example in larger premises, other types of scrubber dryer come into play.

The Solaris has a 40cm cleaning width. Though not cordless, it is quiet enough for daytime cleaning. This machine’s multidirectional ability to clean while moving forwards or backwards boosts productivity. The Solaris has twin 15l tanks for clean and recovered solution.

Rotary brushes or pads are used to push productivity higher by the Orbis Battery Scrubber. This has a run time of 80 minutes, and a large 17l solution tank, despite its compact design.

The Truvox International range performs in commercial and industrial applications from food services areas and care homes, through schools and leisure centres to warehouses and factories. Manoeuvrable and hard- working, the highly versatile scrubber dryer can help cleaning teams turn in a consistently high and competitive performance.
