Welsh businesses collaborate to fight

COVID-19 With the roadmap out of lockdown well underway, Waterless Limited and PHS are working together to provide customers effective hand sanitisation and surface solutions, enabling the public to return to daily life.

Waterless are the manufacturers of the Nilaqua range, and Caerphilly-based PHS are the largest supplier of washroom, healthcare and floorcare hygiene in the UK, with over 120,000 customers in 300,000 locations.

Jessica Efford, Head of Sales for Waterless, commented: “We are very pleased and proud to be working with such a reputable company and such a strong brand as PHS. We have worked very hard over many years to develop the Nilaqua sanitiser range to become one of the best products available. It is manufactured at our new production facility in South Wales and we are excited about the collaboration and continued growth with PHS.”

Warren Edmondson, Managing Director of PHS Direct, added: “At PHS Direct, we want to offer customers the very best

products on the market as well as a wide range to meet their needs. Hand sanitiser has become part of everybody’s daily lives and while we all understand the benefits, it can also lead to dry, sore skin due to a combination of frequent handwashing and harsh alcohol-based products. However, smart product choices can help alleviate these issues allowing people to sanitise their hands effectively and more kindly.

“We’re pleased to form this new partnership with UK manufacturer Waterless Limited, which has a proven track record, is trusted by the NHS and offers products which are both effective and kind to hands.”

Waterless is an expanding business, having chosen Wales to relocate their business to and moved into their largest plant to date. One of the UK’s longest established manufacturers of specialist medical grade hand sanitiser and surface solutions, Waterless has won numerous awards and supplied the NHS since 2016. Waterless’ owners have strong ties with Swansea, and the opportunity to expand there allowed the owners to create new job roles and bring new business to South Wales.

Shaping the future of sustainability

Jangro is delighted to be part of the Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association’s (CHSA) new sustainability committee, which was recently formed to focus on how the sector can adopt more environmentally friendly processes and systems.

A roadmap towards sustainability is essential for the long-term future of the cleaning and hygiene industry. Together, with representatives from all areas of the CHSA membership, Jangro will work to define the way forward. Ultimately, this will help all businesses to achieve the minimum standards and progress on their journey.

The initiative covers product, packaging, transportation, wellbeing and ethics, as well as a corporate approach to emissions, waste, and water. The intention is to provide the CHSA’s wide range of members with practical advice, guidance, and examples of good practice to encourage their businesses and supply chains to have a balanced approach to sustainability as well as supporting continuous, identifiable improvements over the long term.

Joanne Gilliard, CEO at Jangro, commented: “At Jangro, we are 100% committed to tackling this issue, because we recognise that the day-to-day products and processes implemented in the cleaning sector inevitably have an impact on the environment. We are proud to be on the CHSA’s sub-committee, playing a role in shaping the industry’s future and helping cleaning businesses become cleaner and greener.”

Joining the CHSA’s sustainability committee is just one of the steps Jangro has taken to demonstrate its responsibility to this matter. It offers a catalogue purely dedicated to eco-friendly supplies and its popular Enviro range of concentrated cleaning and sanitising products has been designed with a sensible, lifecycle approach to the environment in mind.

In addition, Jangro works closely with its supply chain to develop innovations and products, which offer an effective and a more sustainable offering, helping its customers to make informed, responsible decisions. The company is 14001 accredited with environment management systems in place for continued improvement within working practices.
