Tomorrow’s
News Sponsored by Big promotion at Rawlins
Expert cleaning consultants and equipment supplier, Denis Rawlins, has bolstered its senior leadership team following the promotion of Werner Du Plessis.
Werner, who has been with the company for over three years, has been promoted to the role of sales director for the UK.
Having worked in the cleaning and FM industry for
eight years, he will continue to build upon the respected reputation of the business while bringing new and innovative solutions for cleaning companies and facilities managers. His work with mitigating the risk of slips and falls within the workplace has shown great success in 2020.
Werner said: “I am honoured to have this opportunity to be part of the Denis Rawlins senior leadership team. Denis Rawlins disrupts the market with their innovative solutions and with their passion for the cleaning industry and I am fully aligned
to this vision. I look forward to being a part of the change and supporting our clients as we continue to grow and learn.”
It comes after a strong previous year for Rawlins, which saw the cleaning experts support a number of high-profile firms fight back against COVID-19 with their ‘Remove, Improve and Protect’ method. The science-led cleaning strategy removes unwanted soils and microbes, improves processes, and protects surfaces against potential deadly pathogens.
James White, Managing Director of Rawlins, added: “We are delighted to welcome Werner to our senior leadership team following his well-deserved promotion. He has played an integral role in building the business over the past few years and has worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to help his customers navigate the complexities of cleaning in a COVID world.
“Despite the current easing of restrictions, cleaning and hygiene remain vital. We have the right team, tools and techniques to help businesses keep their staff and customers safe as we continue to live alongside the virus. If you are interested in hearing how we can help, get in touch today.”

Churchill’s Charlotte Parr joins APPG
Independently-owned soft services provider, Churchill Group, has announced that Director Charlotte Parr is working to support the work of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for the UK cleaning and hygiene industry.
The APPG exists to promote the importance of cleaning and hygiene to everyone in the UK, a cause that Charlotte is both knowledgeable and passionate about.
The APPG aims to
raise public interest issues surrounding the sector. This includes the impact of immigration rules, the importance
of committing to the real living wage, and recognising operatives within the sector as key workers. The APPG was inaugurated in February 2021 and includes 70 MPs and three Members of the House of Lords, making it one of the larger APPGs.
Charlotte was exclusively invited to join the APPG by the British Cleaning Council (BCC), and her involvement makes Churchill a key voice for the cleaning industry – a sector annually worth billions to the economy, and employs over 1.6m people. Charlotte is joined on the APPG by other industry experts, including representatives from the BCC.
Charlotte said: “I’m honoured to have been invited to support the work of the APPG. The importance of our industry and the dedication from our cleaning and hygiene operatives must be properly recognised. I look forward to advocating on their behalf and helping the industry receive the support and recognition it merits.”
